My Top Positive Influences on Social Media.

Hello my friends and welcome back. If you like me are seeking for positive influences in all aspects to life I am here to help you with that. No matter what walk of life you are from and what path you are going down, we all need some good people in our life to help us make the right choices. So today I wanted to share the people who I personally believe are my positive influences within the realm of social media. Some you may have heard of and some you might not have, so I will leave all links to them throughout this post so that you can find them if you need them.

I first wanted to start off with the positive influences on YouTube, I find YouTube an amazing way to have some company whilst you’re alone. I like to find people I trust and love so that I can support them and learn a lot from them. This can be whenever I’m seeking something specific or if I just need a friendly voice in the background when I don’t want to be alone.

My first is Melanie Murphy. Melanie is an Irish Youtuber who makes content about bisexuality, sex, relationships, self care, self love and anything in between (I mean if you don’t believe me check out her non fiction book which covers all bases). This amazing woman holds back nothing and radiates positivity and light. She offers advice and anecdotes about her life which shows you that what you’re dealing with is normal but you can also get through it regardless. I find her so relaxing and so uplifting when I feel like absolute shite. It’s like having a big sister in the form of a social media star as she is someone you can look up to and get support from.

My second is Molly Burke, Molly is a woman living in LA with blindness. She uses her platform to spread awareness and information about living with a disability. She shows people who have visual impairments that you can do the things you never thought you would and that your life is not worth any less. She spreads an incredible message whilst being down to earth and relatable. The very fact that she can share her journey of ups and downs and still be smiling inspires me no end. That girl has shown that she can do whatever the fuck she wants regardless whether she can see or not. It’s amazing to have some representation so that people who may not know anything about people with disabilities can learn about them and become more understanding and accepting.

My third positive YouTube influence is the one and only Helen Anderson. Saying that she is an absolute babe is an understatement. Helen’s channel is somewhere I go when I feel down and need some pep in my step. She’s just such a cool person with an attitude that doesn’t give a fuck about what you have to say but also is so warm and kind. She talks about fast fashion, feelings and things that she seems as important. She’s just an all round good egg and her dogs give me life.

My fourth and final YouTube positive influence is Milena Ciciotti. Milena’s channel is definitely one of fashion, lifestyle and vlogs but what makes her channel so special is that everything is Christ-centred. She and her husband talk about faith and it really helps me feel less alone on this journey of faith. They do studies, testimony’s and just invite the Lord into all aspects of life. They’ve also created a podcast which I have adored listening to and would highly recommend you subscribe to too. What I love the most about this YouTube channel is that Milena and Jordan break down the Christian stereotype and they show you that anybody can belong to a religion and that you can still be a multidimensional person.

Moving onto somebody who I found on Instagram called Kaytee (her username is NurseMum). When I first started following the NurseMum page Kaytee was just finishing her nursing degree and was talking about the struggles of doing her job but also being a single parent to a child with multiple diagnosis’. Since then she has created calendars to raise money for private therapy for Jaxon (her beautiful baby boy), made some SEN based merch and created a group where parents/carers/families/professionals of SEND children can talk, ask questions and find support on their journey. She also has a YouTube channel and a blog where she shares her journey and her struggles, she is advocating for children with disabilities and the battles the parents of them can go through too. I have a massive respect for Kaytee and I love her account, as an Early Years Practitioner I love seeing Jaxon’s progress and how he is doing. I have such massive respect for this amazing woman and her lovely little boy.

The last person (for right now) I want to talk about is the lovely LavraxLondon. She is someone who I connected with on twitter and she has been the kindest and most supportive angel known to man. She really takes interest in people’s lives, she supports them endlessly and is just such a warm person. For me personally she has messaged me when I’ve been down, she has supported my family business and she is always there to leave a nice comment on my blog or Instagram. She is an insanely beautiful soul who deserves all the love in the world. If you know Lav you know how amazing she is and if she doesn’t please follow her and drop her a tweet because she is the first person to help me feel part of the blogging community and I appreciate that so much. So a huge shoutout to that literal angel!

So that my friends are my top positive influences on the internet, I have many more so if you want to hear them then do let me know and I can do that. I would LOVE to hear who are your positive influences in the comments.

Thank you so much for reading today and I hope to see you around these parts again soon!

  1. Love this list, Alex. ❤ I hadn't heard of most of these women before (outside of Lav) who is definitely such a positive soul!

In terms of positive influencers I enjoy, I really like Iskra Lawrence (who is actually featured in one of the Aerie photos on this post) because of how she promotes body positivity.

  2. What a lovely list 🙂 I’ve sadly never heard of any one of them except for Lav of course haha. It was so nice that you added her here! She definitely is a ray of sunshine. I will have to look into the rest though! Super impressed with Molly Burke though, as it shows you that blindness can’t stop you if you’re willing and determined to follow your dreams. You can still function like any other person out there! Thanks for sharing Alex xx

  4. Hi Alex, thanks for putting together this list! Sometimes I can feel down and lonely I never thought to retreat to influencers on youtube. I have a terrible habit of putting on listening to depressing music. I’m going to try to watch one of their vlogs when I next feel like this.
